Lark XXI Century introduced the upgraded Reliable Control 80 device during the pandemic

Lark XXI Century, a developer of speed limiting devices, upgraded its own development "Reliable Control 80" in 2020. ("NK-80") and tested the new functionality of the device for the needs of different users.

The company has already started marketing the upgraded devices, which can now be equipped with crane and manipulator units (CCU) to avoid accidents, as well as installed in commercial vehicles to detect radio frequency jamming signals ("jammers").

"NK-80" on crane-manipulator installations

The production of "Lark XXI Century" has long ago debugged the operation of UOS on dump trucks. The operating principle when working with hydraulics is to install additional sensor in the system of body lifting mechanism. If this sensor signals the presence of a certain pressure value in the system, the speed limiter will not allow the vehicle to speed more than 10-15 km/hour.

This function has proven to be quite popular with transportation organizations involved in construction. "About once a month the news channels report about another accident with a truck. The drivers either due to fatigue or carelessness forget to put the body in the transport position after unloading, or accidentally lift it while driving. At the same time they do not notice the signals informing about the opening of the body, which should be installed in the cabin of the dump truck, and there were cases when the driver deliberately turned off the annoying buzzer", - explained the company.

At the moment several large construction companies have equipped the whole vehicle fleet of dump trucks with UOS "NK-80" and the probability of serious accidents with the lifted dump truck body on the roads or adjacent areas has been completely eliminated.

At the same time, when working with crane-manipulator installations (CMU) there is also a fairly common problem of non-compliance with safety regulations. "Drivers are in a hurry or lazy and start driving without bringing the CMU into the transport position. As a consequence of such violations, accidents with truck cranes and manipulators occur quite often," the company said.

During September 2020 "Zhavoronok XXI Century" has produced several test installations of UOS "NK-80" on truck cranes and manipulators for organizations of the Moscow region. By results of work in a test mode has been received excellent result - customers have been satisfied and now there are negotiations on contract conclusion on delivery and installation of commercial party of devices.

GPS/GSM signal jammer detection

Modern commercial vehicles are equipped with many additional electronic devices to control driver's work, vehicle parameters, geolocation - speed limiters, fuel control devices, various trackers, tracking cameras, the Platon system and much more. GPS/ GLONASS, GSM, 3G, and Wi-Fi signals can be used for data transmission. However, drivers are finding ways and means to circumvent these controls and restrictions.

"Recently, so-called 'jammers' - portable suppressors of GPS/GSM and other radio signals - have become widespread. These devices are relatively small in size and very easy to use - they plug into an on-board car cigarette lighter without additional complications. "Jammers" are freely sold in shops in the country and cost inexpensively. The result of work of such devices is quite simple, but very effective - the car loses connection with control servers, i.e. there is no data on location, speed, volume of fuel and other parameters. At this time the vehicle is working, making unplanned trips, pouring fuel or going to a parking lot in case of theft," said the company.

Financial losses of vehicle owners from the use of such "jammers" are very high, so the developers of "Lark XXI Century" suggested the following solution: additional equipment for the detection of RF jamming signals was integrated into the speed limiting device "NK-80". As soon as the CB identifies a signal from the "jammer", it sends a command to limit speed to 3-5 km/h, or more precisely, to limit engine speed to idling.

Despite the fact that when you turn on a signal jammer car loses communication, the tracker can not track its location, driving at a speed of no more than three kilometers per hour makes it difficult to steal a car or third party travel.

The company conducted several test installations of UOS configuration with the function of "jammer" detection. The result of the application fully justifies the cost of purchase and installation of the UOS "NK-80", the more so because this function is only optional to the basic functions of the device to limit the speed, which are incorporated in the basic version.
