Federal Tax Service will not stop business operations in case of tax arrears

The Federal Tax Service (FTS) has added a new paragraph to the moratorium on enforcement measures for businesses which cannot pay taxes and contributions due to sanctions: the agency will not temporarily suspend operations on business accounts in the presence of tax arrears.

As writes RBC referring to the text of the order, the easing will be valid until June 1, 2022. The authenticity of the document was confirmed by two sources.

The temporary easing is adopted "in order to reduce the risk of insolvency of taxpayers - legal entities and individual entrepreneurs affected by the new economic conditions". Now following the decision to bring to responsibility for a tax violation after the results of the tax audit till June 1, entrepreneurs would not be subject to security measures in the form of suspension of transactions at the bank account. This would allow the "guilty" business to continue working, making the necessary purchases and payments, and pay the tax debts, the experts explained.

The new measure will not apply if the tax authority sees reason to believe that the taxpayer will not meet his obligations. In this case the account will be blocked no matter what.
