Russian transit company Veles Special helped to transport a wooden house from Buryatia to Poland

Organizer of cargo transportation between Russia and other countries "Veles Special" in 2019 implemented the order of a Polish company to transport a wooden house from Buryatia to Poland.

"In November 2019, a Polish company, which needed to remove a dismantled wooden house from Buryatia to Poland, applied for Veles Special's services. The complexity of the order was to transport fragile but oversized cargo consisting of logs of different length and weight, as well as glass windows with carved parts," the company said.

In view of the absence of transport in Buryatia to Poland, Veles Special chartered a truck with stakes, special loading devices, designed for transportation of logs and pipes. The cargo was then delivered to the company's warehouse in Podolsk, where a force frame was fabricated, fumigated and secured in the cargo hold with straps. Loading the construction parts in Buryatia took a full day, while loading at the warehouse took only half an hour.

About the scheme of transportation

Earlier Veles Specialty developed a scheme of delivery of various cargoes via transit warehouse in the Moscow region. Since the region of the capital is a big transport hub, where different transport corridors with regular transport converge, Veles Specialty was able to arrange uninterrupted delivery chains from any region of Russia, including even the most remote spots of the country.

This scheme of trade enables stockpiling and shipment of goods in accordance with the required delivery schedule.

In future "Veles Specialty" plans to ship consolidated vehicles separately to each country of the European Union. Russia can also be a transit country for shipments from South-East Asia to European countries, which will cut transit time by half in comparison to traditional shipping through the Suez Canal. That is why the company is open for cooperation in international logistics and is looking for customers and partners in other countries of the world.

About the company

Veles Specialty, founded in 2014, deals with the organization of cargo transportation between Russia and other countries, transit through Russia, as well as the delivery of goods between third countries.

The company arranges transportation of expensive high-precision equipment, supplies raw materials for manufacturing enterprises of different profiles, and provides services related to delivery of spare parts and food, oversized and hazardous cargo.

Types of transportations

When operating with international cargo Veles Specialty uses different types of transport.

For example, shipments to European countries are performed mostly by road transport that enables to maintain good results in terms of transit time and cost. For road transportations with Europe vehicles of various capacities are used - from 1 ton and more. Such transport has a number of advantages, one of which is mobility, which allows it to compete with air transport. The popularity of motor transport is growing from year to year. For example, it has become more active in operations with China - there is the experience of cargo transportation from Shanghai (China) to Istanbul (Turkey).

At the same time Veles Specialty actively uses shipments in containers. The main direction of such carriages are China and other countries of South-East Asia. Such shipments are multimodal as a rule and combine several types of transport: sea-freight, railroad, or trucking. If a container follows the sea, its transit can take place through the ports of the Far East with subsequent delivery by rail, as well as through the ports of Novorossiysk or St. Petersburg with subsequent delivery by road transport. Types of transport may be alternated in different sequence depending on the capabilities and wishes of the client.

Recently, container trains have been actively developing by rail from China to other countries, where Russia can act not only as a consignee country, but also as a transit country on the way to Europe. The main advantage of shipping cargo in a container is the economic component. This type of carriage minimizes the transit time, which is one of the main indicators for some categories of goods.

Transportation of cargo in containers is also carried out to Europe, mainly when the consignor and consignee are located in close proximity to the port. With other counterparts located in Africa, the Middle East, as well as in Australia, America and India, shipping in a container becomes almost without alternative.

At the same time, air freight is becoming increasingly popular. As a rule, this is the delivery of urgent consignments, where the main indicator is the shortest transit time.
