Production of eco-friendly motor oils is to be increased in Moscow

The capital manufacturer of lubricants Kupper plans to increase production several times this year due to the increased demand. The oil produced by the company does not contain toxic substances and does not harm the environment, the press service of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy reported.

"In 2021, the company produced more than 150 tons of motor oil - 1.5 times more than in 2020. The company's lubricants are created from domestic materials and can be used in freight, passenger, water, air and rail transport, as well as in mechanical engineering and for agricultural machinery," said head of the department Vladislav Ovchinsky.

As Sergey Mamykin, the company's founder, noted, the oil is made with non-toxic copper, which does not contain phosphorus, sulfur, magnesium and calcium - which, according to him, are usually used in the manufacture of lubricants. Thanks to the use of such oils, no pollutants are released into the atmosphere.

The enterprise's oils were tested at Astrakhan State Technical University, during which high operational and environmental effects of the products for water transport were confirmed, Mamykin said.

"Now tests are starting in Nizhny Novgorod on Vodolet high-speed passenger ships. Tests confirm that compared to counterparts the use of our engine oil with copper additives reduces fuel consumption, engine wear rate and exhaust gas temperature. In addition we have lower emissions of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons, as well as petroleum products," says the owner.

In addition, the company's motor oil and lubricants are currently being tested at one of Russia's largest scrap metal recycling and disposal facilities, the department's press service said.

"The capital's industrial enterprises continue to increase production: in the first quarter of this year alone, the manufacturing industry grew by more than 27 percent compared to the same period of the previous year," Ovchinsky noted.
