The company - national champion Alkor Bio has released under the brand name "Intifika" two new products for molecular research: reagent for storage and transportation of clinical material "Transport medium with mucolytic" (TC-ML) and a set of "Water without nucleases". The press service of the company informs about it.
Reagent TS-ML is designed for storage and transportation of clinical material (saliva and scrape material of the oropharynx and urogenital tract) for further investigation by molecular biological methods, including polymerase chain reaction with real-time detection of products of amplification. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) - experimental method of molecular biology, the method of significant increase of small concentrations of certain DNA fragments in biological material. PCR is based on multiple doubling of a specific DNA section using enzymes under artificial conditions (in vitro).
The TS-ML transport medium is a sterile water-salt buffer solution ready for use. TS-ML consists of mucolytic and preservative. DNA and RNA stability for a long time at a wide temperature range is provided by the preservative, which prevents the growth of non-specific microflora and premature lysis. Homogenization of the sample is promoted by mucolytics through mucosa liquefaction, which increases the reproducibility of molecular genetic studies. DNA extraction kits produced by Alkor Bio can be used for DNA extraction.
Deionized water free of nucleases has been treated with diethylpyrocarbonate (DEPC), autoclaving and filtration (0.2 μm). Purified, nuclease-free water is ready for use and requires no additional preparation such as mixing and autoclaving. Nuclease-free water can be used when creating master mixes for PCR.
In August GC Alkor Bio opened a new modern vivarium. The company invested over 67.5 million rubles in its reconstruction and equipment. Vivarium is necessary for Alkor Bio to meet the needs of a hybrid laboratory for the production of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies, which, in turn, are important components of test systems.
Alkor Bio Group, a developer and manufacturer of test systems for immunoenzyme analysis and polymerase chain reaction method, was founded in 1992. Immunoenzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is a laboratory immunological method for qualitative or quantitative determination of various low-molecular compounds, macromolecules, viruses, etc., based on a specific antigen-antibody reaction.
The direction "Molecular and genetic diagnostics" has been actively developing in the SC "Alkor Bio" since 2007. In particular, the company produces test systems for diagnostics of cystic fibrosis in the format of microchips, DNA-cards for collection and storage of biomaterial samples, under the brand name "Intifika" - reagent kits based on the method of real-time PCR for the diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections. Intifika brand also produces related products for extraction and purification of nucleic acids, enzymes for PCR. Simple and modified oligonucleotides are produced and sold. Alkor Bio Group of Companies is a participant in the priority project of the Ministry of Economic Development "National Champions".
