A competence center of the National Technological Initiative (NTI) may be created in Russia during 2022, specializing in the development of next-generation geoinformation systems, said Dmitry Peskov, special presidential representative for digital and technological development.
"We hope that one of the new NTI competence centers we will have will be the center of geoinformation systems of the next generation based on an end-to-end ideology of technological sovereignty," he said.
NTI competence centers are subdivisions at universities and scientific organizations which develop end-to-end technologies: create new devices, software, infrastructure objects, launch their own educational programmes.
There are now 21 STI competence centers in Russia for robotics, quantum communications, artificial intelligence, photonics, hydrogen technologies and other areas.
