Films "Ghostly White" directed by Maria Ignatenko and "Nearby" by Tamara Dondurei will be shown at the Rotterdam Film Festival, said Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.
"A great start to the year for our projects, which will become part of the international festival life. We are well aware that it becomes possible thanks to our gifted filmmakers, amazing ideas, implemented by talented teams. In Rotterdam the jury will see traditionally profound domestic works about the past and the present, in which complicated themes are revealed in a very elegant artistic language, "- she said.
Rotterdam festival is held since 1972 and is aimed to support alternative and non-commercial cinema. It is one of the largest in Europe, along with the Cannes Film Festival, festivals in Venice, Berlin and Locarno. This year the show will take place online from January 26 to February 6.
