The largest manufacturer of orthopedic footwear and Russia's only enterprise for the individual production of special (adaptive) clothing for people with disabilities "Ortomoda" entered the international market in 2019. The customer of the first export delivery was a rehabilitation center in Lanzhou province (China).
"The first export shipment of orthopedic footwear for children, produced at the digital factory in Moscow according to all GOST regulations, was made at the end of 2019. The pilot batch was ordered by a rehabilitation center in Lanzhou province," said the company's representative.
He noted that China has about 86 million people with disabilities, and the rehabilitation infrastructure itself is well developed, with 33 rehabilitation centers in provinces, 2,000 city and 40,000 district rehabilitation centers. Despite this, the innovative developments of "Ortomoda" in the field of shoe production interested representatives of China, and they have repeatedly visited the company's production during their visit to Russia.
"Plans for the near future include opening a joint orthopedic center with China, on the basis of which conditions will be created for training and exchange of experience between specialists and doctors of our countries," the company added.
At the same time, the management of Orthomoda intends to expand the geography of export deliveries - to Korea and Kazakhstan. "This activity opens up an unlimited market and gives an opportunity to get recognition of a domestic product on the world stage," - explained the representative of "Orthomod".

In 2020 "Ortomoda" was officially recognized as a social enterprise - in addition to the fact that the company provides orthopedic footwear for about 20 thousand people with disabilities per year, of the 110 employees of the company - 20% have different degrees of disability.
