The episode "Football" of the animated series "Sportania" was nominated in 2019 for the Internet Award "For the Good of the World" and became one of the finalists in the category "Animation". Last year, a total of 52 animated tapes of domestic production of different genres and directions participated in the competition, in particular, 2D/3D cartoons and plasticine animation.
About the Award
"For the Good of the World" is an independent internet folk award for goodness in the arts, where anyone can nominate their project for the competition. Among the participants you can find both well-known companies and amateurs. The aim of this event is to support projects which aim to promote and preserve moral and spiritual ideas in works of art. Each of the nominees is distinguished by their humanism and willingness to contribute to the development of contemporary art and society.
For the first time the prize was awarded in 2011 and every year since then it has been attracting more and more attention. For example, the very next year the number of participants who submitted their applications was 1,467, and the number of users who voted was more than three million. In 2013, these same figures doubled.
The competition comprises 12 categories: feature films, TV and video programmes, documentaries, Internet sites, animation, author's song, fiction, theatre, popular song, video clips, informative literature and feature film/ debut.
The council of experts for the Peace Prize includes Soviet and Russian artists, actors, writers and singers. The composition of the jury changes every year, with such famous personalities as Alexander Mikhailov, Lyubov Kazarnovskaya, Larisa Verbitskaya, Oleg Roy, Tatiana Zaluzhnaya (Lyubasha), Grigory Gladkov and many others having managed to take part in the selection of the laureates
The 2019 award ceremony was held in Moscow at the Mir Cinema and Concert Hall.
Cartoon series "Sportania".
The "Football" episode nominated for the award is part of the animated series "Sportania", which tells the story of an alien creature Yulo, who, together with Earth children, masters different sports. The aim of the project, created by Russian entrepreneur Vasily Nizhegorodov, is to popularize a healthy way of life and to instill love for sports through animation in pre-school and primary school children.
As of today, viewers can watch seven episodes dedicated not only to sports activities, but also to sporting events, such as the World Winter Universiade held in Krasnoyarsk in 2019. In total, the authors of the animated series plan to release 60 episodes on sports and health care. In addition, two e-books "ZHOZH" and "The ABC of ZHOZH" were published based on "Sportania" together with the online portal LitRes, through which children can not only learn the alphabet, but also learn a lot about sports, health, healthy habits and different physical exercises.
The episodes of the cartoon, which are gaining popularity, can be watched not only online but also on TV. Broadcasts are on channels such as: "Cartoon", "Match TV", "Children's", "Cartoon and Music". At the same time, the right to show the cartoon has online movie theaters Okko, ivi and Megogo. The project also has its own channel on YouTube, where in April of this year, the animated series exceeded one million views.
