Moscow-based Svyazstroydetal equipped a classroom at a technical college in Poland in 2020.
Svyazstroydetal, a leading Russian developer and manufacturer of products for cable duct construction and installation of electric and optical communication cables, implemented a project to equip a training class at a technical college in Gdansk (Poland) in 2020.
"The project of Svyazstroydetal's participation in training telecommunications industry specialists by educational structures has reached an international level. The new training ground was built by our specialists taking into consideration experience gained in organization of similar classes in colleges of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Vologda and other Russian cities," the company's official website says.
He specified that the Laboratory of Passive Optical Networks (PON) equipped by Svyazstroydetal at the St. Petersburg University of Telecommunications (SPbGUT named after Prof. Bonch-Bruevich) became a demonstrative example, which inspired the creation of a similar training class by Jadwiga Pehoviak, director of the Gdansk college, who visited her St. Petersburg colleagues in 2019. It was then that the first agreements on cooperation between the Polish college and Svyazstroydetal took place.
In the Gdansk version, the passive optical network model is completed with actual samples of the company's equipment: high-density crossing (VOX), MTOK couplings, wall-mounted optical crossings, optical subscriber sockets and other products for optical networks. The proposed scheme will allow students to practice practical skills in building PONs of FTTh, FTTb configurations.
"During the meeting in Gdansk we agreed to continue cooperation. We are planning to supply consumable materials for practical classes and arrange technical support of the project using the resources of our FTTh CTC. Gdansk technical college has an excellent reputation in Polish professional community. Opening of a training class with our equipment here is a real step towards bringing our products to the Polish telecommunications market," said Olga Yanchevskaya, the company's commercial director.

Production
The company has a modern fleet of equipment for the production of reinforced concrete structures, metal processing, plastic molding and manufacturing of optical cords, and is the leader in the Russian market for the design and manufacture of couplings for fiber-optic communication cables. At the same time reinforced concrete products for construction of communication lines are the only ones made by Moscow companies using the technology recommended by the Research Institute of Reinforced Concrete of the Gosstroy of the RF which ensures maximum durability in the conditions of aggressive urban environment.
At the same time Svyazstroydetal develops and serially produces polyethylene and lead joints for electric communication cables, terminal equipment equipped with plinths with plunge contacts, 10-pair connectors of communication cables SMZh-10, in total over 1000 items.
In order to develop new products and adapt the existing products to the specific needs of customers, the company structure has a developed technical service consisting of a design department, a department of communication cable construction technologies, a customer technical support and quality service, a testing laboratory allowing to perform climatic, mechanical and electrical tests of the manufactured products.
