Med-Ray, a leading company in the field of digital health in the Russian Federation, has developed and implemented a project to implement a unified e-healthcare system in the Republic of Chuvashia in 2019.
"The secret of successful project implementation in Chuvashia is that a balance was found between financing and the concept of building a unified e-healthcare system in the republic. It is for the creation of a holistic concept that the efforts of the Medical Information and Analytical Centre (MIAC) of the Republic have been directed. As a result of the work of a large team of specialists it was possible not only to create an integrated system architecture, but also to formulate a comprehensive stage by stage programme for its implementation", said the representative of the company.
About the project
Modern standards of care in Russia, as elsewhere in the world, are based on improving the availability of information for doctors and patients. Particularly important are projects for healthcare informatization at the regional level, which can drastically reduce costs while improving the quality of medical services across the country.
Med-Ray's experience in healthcare informatization in the Republic of Chuvashia has allowed the company to highlight four main reasons why medical information technology is vital for the republic:
To store and manage huge volumes of data they need modern information system - PACS / RIS, which are based on the most advanced electronic technologies and quality software.
The implementation of such a complex project required good coordination between the staff of the clinics and the implementing organization, as well as a well-developed computer infrastructure. Thus, the creation of the regional radiology system of the republic is a joint success of the developers, the staff of the Republican MIAC and all medical personnel of the republic involved in the project.
However, PACS/RIS is not only software. The secret of success is not only introduction, but also qualitative briefing and further technical support of the system during the whole life cycle of the equipment, including preventive maintenance, installation of software updates and upgrades in accordance with the customer's wishes. Much work has been done on integration with Medical Information System of the Republic. Data from CAMI is integrated with Situation Center of the Republic, where there is a minute-by-minute analysis of many parameters of performed tests, equipment operation, etc.
At the same time, complete PACS/RIS solution has led to simplification of personnel work and building of a full cycle of work in diagnostic departments from registration of patients in a single database to archiving of medical images and preparation of conclusions in electronic form.
