More than 90% of Odin-Media's media content became available to users of IVI and OKKO streaming services

Russian film distributor Odin-Media is actively developing cooperation with streaming platforms, which have become not just full-fledged players in the media content distribution business, but also its active producers. For example, about 90% of the company's media content is currently available to users of VOD platforms OKKO and IVI.

"Even despite the existence of a large number and variety of satellite TV channels, the popularity of VOD platforms, which are active partners of Odin-Media, has also increased in Russia. Some of the largest Russian streaming services are OKKO and IVI platforms, with which Odin-Media has been cooperating since 2015. During this time more than 90% of Odin-Media's catalogue items have become available to IVI and OKKO users", said the company's representative.

On the streaming platforms for users are available:

  • Full-length documentaries. For example, forcing a new look at the biography of the Cuban revolutionary film "I, Che Guevara";
  • Feature films - including "The Story of a Destination," based on true events, about an innocent but accused of a crime soldier who gets the support of the world-famous writer, the young Leo Tolstoy;
  • Documentary dramas - for example, the unique and spectacular film "Urartu. The Forgotten Kingdom" about the history of the most ancient state on Earth;
  • a wide range of documentary cycles: popular science issues "Armageddon" and "Harmful World", which tell about the study of problems threatening the life of modern man or the causes of extinction of all life on Earth;
  • History documentary series, such as "The Great Commanders", in which each issue is dedicated to the heroes of world wars and local conflicts; "Closed Archives", alternative history programs about the political, military, social and economic history of Russia in the 20th century; "The Revolution. The era of great change" - a project based on unique documents and evidence that shed light on the dark pages of the history of Russian revolutions.

Foreign streaming services

Cooperation with foreign streaming services began in 2016, when US platform Netflix acquired the rights to show the project co-produced with its partners, German company Looks Film & TV productions - a historical and biographical documentary film "The History of Free Cuba". In 2018, another collaborative project was adapted specifically for Netflix - the military documentary "The Age of Tanks".

Since 2017, Odin-Media began working with another American streaming giant - the Amazon Video platform. Last year, users of Amazon Prime North America were able to watch the Russian feature film "History of One Destination" and Russian feature series - "Secret City" (a project in the urban fantasy genre, based on a series of novels by a famous Russian science fiction writer, About "secret" Moscow, a parallel reality, where there are representatives of long-gone Earth civilizations, which formed the Great Houses of powerful magicians) and "Fathers" (a dramatic story about how four intrepid loving fathers decide to find their daughters, kidnapped by radical Islamists from Libya).

The streaming service bought the rights to show two docudramas this year: "Urartu. The Forgotten Kingdom" and "Shchelkin. Godfather of the Atomic Bomb" - a film biography of one of the main creators of atomic and hydrogen bombs, Kirill Ivanovich Shelkin.

Also this year, users of Amazon Prime in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, and Ireland will be able to watch several packages of serial feature content produced by Russian production companies in the original language with English subtitles: historical and biographical dramas ("Galina," "Zhukov"), detectives ("The Hunt for Beria," "Vlasik. Stalin's Shadow", "Fortune Teller", "Loop Nesterova"), as well as based on real events historical war drama, which premiered in April 2020 on the "First Channel" - series "Dzhulbars", telling about the tragic events of the war in the summer of 1941, when, during the fighting with the enemy killed dogs and members of the border school service dog breeding.

In addition to the Russian series, Amazon Prime subscribers will be able to watch a selection of popular television show about the achievements and innovations of the Russian military industry "Military Acceptance".
