In 2023, farmers of the Rostov region will replace more than 30% of the total demand of the region for sunflower seeds. This will be done as part of the work on import substitution. The information was reported by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Konstantin Rachalovsky.

"We already have results on import substitution of seeds, in 2022 we doubled the area of seed plots for corn and four times - for sunflower. Next year, 14% of the demand for corn seeds and 31% of the total amount of sunflower seeds will be produced. In the future, it is planned to expand the area of seed plots for domestic varieties," Rachalovsky said at a meeting of the regional government.
