Novak: Russia will be able to further increase the export potential of the nuclear industry

The nuclear energy industry is attracting the attention of an increasing number of countries against the background of the energy crisis. In this regard, Russia can take advantage of the situation and increase the export potential of its nuclear industry. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. His words are quoted by the magazine "Energy Policy".

"The growing trend towards expanding the use of peaceful nuclear energy can give a powerful impetus to further improving the country's industry and increasing export potential," Novak said.

According to him, Russia is already a leader in the global nuclear industry, having enormous technological and scientific potential in this direction.

Novak noted that the slowdown in the development of nuclear energy in the last decade was largely due to the accident at the Japanese Fukushima nuclear power plant in 2011. Then a number of countries decided either to accelerate the pace of abandoning the use of nuclear energy, or revised previously planned plans for the establishment of nuclear energy in their countries.
