In Russia, they want to label video games by age to protect children from unnecessary information

The authorities have begun work aimed at regulating game content. According to Kommersant, the Russian government is considering the requirements related to the age marking of video games. It is expected that the results will be included in the federal project "Regulatory Regulation" of the national program "Digital Economy".

The publication reminds that in Russia there are already requirements for labeling content by age, but game content only partially falls under them.

"Market participants are concerned about the prospect of an increase in the regulatory burden and costs when checking all games," the publication reports.

According to the newspaper's source, we are talking about age marking, which is similar to the international rating system Pan European Game Information — it operates in 39 countries.

It is known that the Ministry of Economy of the Russian Federation, on behalf of the President, has prepared amendments to the federal draft — they will limit the uncontrolled dissemination of destructive information among minors.
