Corporate clothing and sleeping bags for the military: Samara garment factory rebuilds business processes

Dmitry Bogdanov, Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Samara Region, paid a working visit to the Profi Dress sewing factory. This is reported in the press service of the Agency for Attracting Investments of the Samara region.

Today, regional light industry enterprises are working steadily, quickly adapting to new realities and market demands.

For 11 years, the company has been producing uniforms and textiles for catering, hotel business and shops. The company supplies its products to 600 cities across Russia and CIS countries, the number of customers of the factory has already exceeded 5000 organizations.

"Our team regularly visits entrepreneurs working in different municipalities of the Samara region. And, of course, first of all, we pay attention to two categories: those who need our help and those with whose successful experience we can get acquainted in order to broadcast it in the future," Dmitry Bogdanov said.

In addition to the central office in Samara, 17 sewing workshops throughout the Samara region cooperate with the company. Thus, Profi Dress provides jobs for more than 200 people.

Creating the necessary conditions for stable work and business development is an important area of work of the regional Government and Governor Dmitry Azarov. Clearly structured production and business processes at the factory allow you to quickly respond to changes in the economic situation and market needs.

"In conditions when our capacities are needed for the region and the country as a whole, we are quickly rebuilding our business processes. So, in 2020 we started producing protective suits for infectious diseases doctors, and in the current situation we started producing army sleeping bags, underwear for the military is in development," said Ruslan Sukayeva, founder of the Profi Dress factory.

500-600 units of products are produced there every day, and this work continues. Today, approximately 70% of the company's capacity is engaged in the production of textiles for the needs of the Russian army.

"Today's difficult conditions associated with a special military operation give many entrepreneurs new opportunities. The company "Profi Dress", which we visited, has a stable volume of orders, but at the same time participates in an important business - the manufacture of products necessary for the country today," Dmitry Bogdanov said.

The company actively uses state support measures to develop its activities. Among them are microloans from the regional Guarantee fund and assistance in entering the export market.

The company establishes foreign economic activity with friendly countries and is a client of the Export Support Center of the Samara region. The company regularly participates in seminars, foreign business missions, applied for the services of selecting foreign partners, translating the website and presentation materials into foreign languages, etc.

"We work in the Russian market, from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka, and also supply our products to the CIS countries. We use raw materials produced in Russia – over the past two years we have very seriously established work with Russian textile factories. I recently visited Uzbekistan and Turkey, as part of regional business missions, and was able to get acquainted with the production of cotton materials. We have already signed a contract with Uzbekistan and are working on the supply of terry cloth, from which we produce towels, bathrobes for hotels, sanatoriums and camp sites throughout the country," Ruslana Sukayeva said.

"Despite the difficult conditions in which we live, small businesses are doing well today. If we talk about the pandemic period, then, despite all the risks and fears, we have completed 2021 with record values of most macro indicators: the growth of GRP, investments, the number of SMEs and the self-employed, revenue growth and taxes. Moreover, these indicators are at the record level and one of the best in the country. Today we are trying to use all the opportunities that business has to generate additional value in the Samara region. This is due to the substitution of imported goods, an increase in the density of cooperative chains. And we help the business with all the available tools: These are financial products of the Guarantee Fund, the regional Industrial Development Fund, and special programs of preferential financial support operating both in the region and at the federal level. In 2022, more than 40 billion rubles have been raised to support small and medium-sized businesses in the Samara region," the Minister of Economic Development and Investment of the Samara Region added.
