Veliky Ustyug will receive more than 5 billion rubles of investments to make the tourist flow here year-round

The investment project "Veliky Ustyug — the fabulous capital of Russia" in the Vologda region is planned to be implemented by 2030. According to the press service of the regional government, as part of the project, it is planned to create a large tourism center with a year-round operating mode.

According to the Interfax agency, among the main tasks is the construction of hotels and guest houses, catering facilities, spa centers and active recreation and sports areas. At the same time, it was decided to modernize the existing facilities. The completed works will attract 624 thousand tourists to Veliky Ustyug by 2030.

However, to do this, 5.1 billion rubles must be invested in the project. The agency notes that over 3 billion rubles will be private investments, another 2.1 billion — federal budget funds.

Last year, the patrimony of Santa Claus was visited by more than 61 thousand tourists, the total tourist flow exceeded 1.7 million people. And already this year 2.2 million people from all over Russia visited Veliky Ustyug.
