Almost half of the Russians surveyed called the main cause of accidents the low level of culture of road users. The data of the VTSIOM survey (All–Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion - approx. editorial offices) publishes on its website.
"Over the past nine years, Russians' perceptions of the causes of road accidents have changed, but the low level of culture of road users is still in the first place - 48% (2013 - 47%). The top 3 reasons also included the presence of privileges for individual drivers (14%) and the leniency of penalties for violating traffic rules (12%), this option sounded more often in 2013 - 20%," the report says.
Also, the results of the study say that pedestrian children are at the greatest risk of becoming a victim of an accident - this opinion is shared by 67% of respondents. Inexperienced drivers of vehicles are in second place (61%).
