Omsk region intends to exceed the plan for the export of agricultural products by 25%

The agro-industrial complex (AIC) of the Omsk region exported agricultural products worth $ 290 million in 2022, thereby exceeding the plan established in the region under the national project "International Cooperation and Export". By the end of this year, the plan is expected to be exceeded by 25%. This was stated by the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food Nikolay Drofa.

"If we have a figure of $ 240 million for 2022, then today we have reached somewhere around $ 290 million and we hope that we will overcome the $ 300 million milestone by the end of the year. That is, regardless of the sanctions, we are fulfilling the tasks set for us to increase exports," Drofa said.

The Minister also added that since March, the authorities of the Omsk region, one of the leading agricultural regions of Siberia, have begun actively exploring new markets for agricultural products. According to him, restrictions on grain exports introduced in the spring gave an impetus to the export of finished products.
