A film distribution system with locally produced projectors is being launched in Yakutia

A project for the development of an alternative cinema distribution network "Extra Cinema" has been launched in Yakutia. It is designed to solve the problem of reducing the cost of organizing film distribution in small towns and rural settlements. In terms of costs, the Yakut solution is 4-5 times more economical than a foreign one, where DCP-standard equipment is used, which are produced under licenses distributed among a limited number of Western manufacturers. The cinema projector and the technological solution for the equipment of cinema halls are developed by domestic manufacturers, manufactured on the basis of the Yakutia technopark.

The ECP-221 cinema projector is capable of producing an image on a screen up to 10 meters wide, bright and powerful, created according to the "latest technology", the press center of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Moscow reported that the cinema kit includes a projector with a built-in media server, a projector control computer and a movie ticket system, software, switching.

A cultural and leisure institution that has gained access to the system selects a movie on the platform, assigns sessions, sells tickets, including using the Pushkin Card, and at this time the projector automatically uploads the movie to the hard disk of the internal server. Then, at the right time, the projector itself will turn on and show the film to the audience gathered in the hall. The profession of a projectionist is a thing of the past.

"For Yakutia, cinema is one of the local brands, and it is in our power to make the Russian film distribution the most popular. And, of course, our directors will be maximally involved in this process. The development of the creative economy is one of the key tasks for the republic for the next decade. Therefore, we will continue to support our cinema, including by opening new cinemas," said the head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev.

In August, the Extra Cinema platform was presented to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during his visit to Yakutsk, and he noted its capabilities.
