Antimonopoly authorities and telecom operators have developed a mechanism for complaints about spam

FAS (Federal Antimonopoly Service – approx. editors) and mobile operators have developed a mechanism for complaints about spam calls. This was told by the deputy head of the service Karina Taukenova.

"In the first half of 2022, the antimonopoly authorities considered 6,319 applications for non-compliance of advertising with legal requirements. The leaders of this year - 36.5% of all detected violations, are spam calls. We get a lot of complaints about spam calls, and here I want to note that we and the main four mobile operators have developed a mechanism where consumers can complain about spam advertising directly to the mobile operator.

It takes less time, and such complaints are dealt with faster. The system needs to be improved, however, we took the first step precisely because we see that a large number of complaints fall on spam calls," Taukenova said.

The topic was discussed at the National Advertising Forum
