Russian gas to Europe instead of the "Northern Streams" can go through Turkey

Russian gas to Europe can be supplied through Turkey. This, as RIA Novosti reports, was stated by the official representative of the Turkish President Ibrahim Kalyn.

"The Presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan, earlier instructed to work out in detail and quickly the issue of creating a gas hub in Turkey, through which, in particular, the Russian Federation could move gas transit from the "Northern Streams" to the Black Sea region and Turkey," the agency reports. Erdogan is confident that such deliveries can take place.

In an interview with one of the Turkish TV channels, Kalyn noted that Europe's rejection of blue fuel from Russia will not be an easy process, it will take years. "Now it is more profitable for Europe to get Russian gas through Turkey than to build alternative routes," he said.

Also, according to the representative of the Turkish president, his country believes that cooperation between the West and the Russian Federation on gas will be normalized when the situation in Ukraine calms down.
