The main villain of Stephen King's novel "It", Pennywise the clown and Nikolai Gogol's Viy, turned out to be in the lead. This is told by the press service of the Litres group of companies.

Experts conducted a survey of users, more than eight hundred people took part in it.

"The rating of characters that users were afraid of in childhood is headed by Viy (35.4%), familiar to readers from the novel of the same name by Nikolai Gogol. In second place is Pannochka (27.1%) - the heroine of the already mentioned mystical work. The bronze went to Dracula (26.9%), the antagonist of the novel by the Irish writer Bram Stoker," the press service said.

Adults are most afraid of Pennywise the clown from the novel "It" - 49.6% of respondents.
