Expert: why you should not invest in gold right now
Russians began to invest more actively in the purchase of precious metals. Citizens see gold, silver, platinum and other metals as a win-win option for investment, but with such investments, many factors should be studied, whether it is a long-term or short-term purchase. The editorial board of "Made in Russia" in a conversation with economist Alexey Zubets found out what should be invested in now in fact."First of all, if we talk about individuals, we should talk about those precious metals that can be sold.
You can buy some niobium, and then there is no way to get rid of it. It is necessary that the metal be monetary and converted into currency and vice versa," Zubets said.According to the expert, there are now "literally two" such currencies - gold and silver.
In addition, you can also invest in stocks and securities linked to the value of these precious metals. At the same time, it should be understood that investments in gold and silver also carry a lot of risks.
"If we look at the trend in the value of gold, now, after the growth in 2016, there has been stagnation, and now its value is going down altogether. Over the past 15 years, gold has risen in price by 1.5 times, but dollar inflation, which is 10% per year, should be deducted from this amount," the expert believes.For this reason, as Zubets added, investments in silver look more attractive.
The fact is that this precious metal also shows an increase in value in recent years, but inflation does not affect it as much as gold. At the same time, it should be understood that buying bullion, whether gold or silver, is not always a win-win option. The expert also advises to take a closer look at ordinary precious jewelry, however, in the case of their sale, you can also not go into the plus at all.
