The government of the Novgorod Region and the Russian developer RED SOFT (a participant in the Made in Russia project) signed a cooperation agreement. The parties will jointly implement the import substitution program of information technologies for the socio-economic development of the region.
The agreement was reached at a conference attended by representatives of the regional government and IT companies in Veliky Novgorod. The document was signed by Stanislav Shultsev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Novgorod Region, and Rustam Rustamov, Deputy General Director of RED SOFT.
Within the framework of the agreement, the parties will organize events aimed at developing the IT industry in the region, participate in working groups and share information received on the use of modern information and communication technologies.
According to Shultsev, "The Novgorod region is taking active measures to accelerate the process of import substitution of information technologies in the region." At the moment, the main task is to switch to the preferential use of Russian software (software).
As Rustamov added, RED SOFT and the Novgorod Region already have experience of joint cooperation. Earlier, the parties transferred a number of medical organizations to the domestic operating system RED OS.
"Our competencies will help to implement such an important import substitution program in the current conditions and ensure technological sovereignty," Rustamov stressed.
