In 1987, Alexander Cheglakov graduated from Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry as a dentist. After the university he became a professional dentist and in 1993 he founded his own dental clinic.
Over the past few years, Cheglakov has been seriously interested in working with dry, environmentally friendly wood. Alexander turns various saws and fragments of dry trees that fell many years ago into artworks. The plot depends on the size of the selected part of the tree, the age of which can reach more than two hundred years. As a rule, the author chooses fancifully curved century-old oaks, as well as spruce and birch trees for his works.
His works are in the collections of famous patients and admirers of the artist, among them: Denis Matsuev, Pavel Lungin, Vladimir Spivakov, Vladimir Mashkov, Gennady Khazanov, Pavel Chukhray and other famous personalities.
Since 2017, Alexander Cheglakov began taking part in public events.
In 2018 he joined the ranks of the Creative Union of Russian Artists.
