AI in Moscow has checked almost 8 million radiation studies

Artificial intelligence (AI) services have been used in the work of medical institutions in Moscow for more than two years. They help to find signs of spinal osteoporosis, aortic aneurysm, stroke, COVID-19 and other diseases on the images of radiation studies. During this time, they helped radiologists analyze more than eight million images of radiation studies in 17 different directions. This was told by the deputy head of the health department of the capital Ilya Tyrov. His words are quoted by the press service of the city government.

"Moscow was one of the first in the world to introduce artificial intelligence technologies into practical healthcare. As of today, almost eight million radiation studies have already been analyzed as part of an experiment on the introduction of computer vision technologies into medicine. The project made it possible to improve the accuracy and quality of radiation diagnostics of the capital. At the same time, the speed of research description has also increased," Tyrov noted.

According to him, the developers of algorithms are mainly domestic companies. Before allowing artificial intelligence to analyze radiation studies of patients in urban medical institutions, researchers, engineers and medical experts test services.
